FIVE experiences you’ll only find at Simmons Alumnae/i, Family & Friends Weekend:

1. Living and Learning Center Groundbreaking
Attend the groundbreaking for the first new building on Simmons’ campus in over a decade! You will be joined by Simmons leadership and special guests from our local community to celebrate our new Living and Learning Center (LLC).

2. Building Our Future Community Conversations
Have your voice heard at one of our dialogue sessions between alumnae/i, parents, students, and academic leaders. Pick a topic such as Rebuilding Alumnae/i Engagement, Creating Community in the LLC, Sciences at Simmons or Expanding Access to Education to share your thoughts on how Simmons can excel in these areas.

3. Banned and Challenged Books Expert Discussion
Join alumnae/i experts and faculty from the School of Library and Information Science, the Simmons Library and the Department of Children's Literature to learn and discuss the history and current issues of book banning in the United States.

4. Outdoor Movie Night and Discussion Featuring Barbie
Hi, Barbie! Watch the blockbuster movie with popcorn on the Residence Quad, but first, hear from Professor Suzanne Leonard, Director of the Graduate Program in Gender and Cultural Studies and co-coordinator of the minor in Cinema and Media Studies.

5. Reconnecting with your friends and making new ones
Attending all of the above events will be great, but getting to enjoy them with your classmates and new friends you make over the weekend will be even better. This weekend will have plenty of opportunities for you to meet and connect with your community and build networks that will last a lifetime.
