Simmons Alumnae/i Community Service Award

Dr Betty Boyle-Duke ‘95
Dr Boyle is an active, lifetime volunteering member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. She is involved in the Brooklyn YWCA continuing her 7th year on the board at Chair and while there incorporated community service as a board initiative. Betty is currently President and was past Vice President of the NY chapter of the National Black Nurses Association.

Sandy Fonseca-Lopes ‘15
As a member of the Undergraduate body at Simmons, Sandy held the office of Secretary, Vice President and President of the Black Student Organization. Sandy also served as Leaders Program; Summer Orientation Leader; Biology Lab Assistant; Simmons Ambassador. In 2015 she was awarded the Student Leadership award. Her career in social work has brought her to the Perry Street Prep PCS in Northwest CD where as a school social worker serving grades from Prek-8 she provides counseling, collaborates with staff and oversees referrals, service delivery and interventions.

Elaine has been a dedicated class officer for 25 years serving as Secretary, Reunion Chair, Class Agent and President. She served on the Simmons Professional Alumnae Network, the North Shore Alumnae/I Network and was on the Reunion Committee of the AAEB in the early 2000’s.

Sandra Lief Garrett ‘67
After a successful term as Vice President and Endowed Scholarship fundraiser for the Class of 1967 , Sandra Lief Garrett now serves as Class President. Concurrent with her Class officer role Sandra also Chaired the Alumnae/I Executive Board’s Award committee for three award cycles. She is an active member of the New York Simmons Alumnae/I Network and has been a Simmons Success Connection Mentor.

Presently founder and CEO of EJ Consulting Group Enna is an award-winning Change Champion who has over 30 years in multiple industries with expertise in Leadership, Technology and Transformation Management. Enna was featured as a 2021 Leading Latina by Hispanic Executive and she is co-author of a book, Extraordinary Latinas. Enna has served on and presently serves on the Boards of many Massachusetts based Boards.
